NewDelhi: The number of monkeypox cases are increasing in the country. The decease confirmed to a 22-year-old African native who lives in Delhi. With this, the number of people affected by monkeypox in the national capital has increased to five.
Earlier, monkeypox was reported in another Nigerian woman in Delhi. She was the first woman to confirm monkeypox in the country. She is undergoing treatment at Loknaik Jaya Prakash Narayan hospital. A total of four people are currently undergoing treatment in Delhi. One recovered and was discharged.
So far, 10 people have been diagnosed with monkeypox in the country. The first patient was reported in Kerala. A single monkeypox death was also reported from Kerala. About 31,000 people have been infected so far this year in about eighty countries. US has the highest number of cases. About 11,000 cases were reported here.
