East Garo: Police seized explosives and weapons in a massive hunt conducted in the East Garo region. The investigation team suspect that the items were hidden by the workers of the Garo National Liberation Army, which is banned.
The explosives and weapons were found from a forest near Pilgonggre, a region that comes under the William Nagar Police Station.
The Police recovered 79 rounds of ammunition, 175 rounds of 7.7 live ammunition, 10 electrical detonators, 12 bore double barrels and 250 grams of Gelatine from the region.
The weapons were recovered by a special operation team formed by the police. They also clarified that there will be further investigations and examinations over the incident.
In the background of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, special security has been arranged by the police and the force in all areas, including the high alert regions, across the nation.
