Srinagar: A police officer was martyred in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir. Police Constable Sarfaraz Ahmed died. The encounter took place in Srinagar yesterday.
A search was launched in the area following a secret information that terrorists were hiding. Meanwhile, the terrorists opened fire on the security personnel. Sarfaraz and a terrorist were injured in the attack. Sarfaraz was rushed to the hospital but lost his life during treatment.
Meanwhile, police seized a scooter, AK 47 rifle and two granades that were used by the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. The search has intensified in the region.
