Mumbai: Police charged a case against the singer and music director Rahul Jain for allegedly raping a 30-year-old costume designer. The woman said that she has been raped at his residence in Mumbai.
The woman met him through the Instagram platform. He praised her for her work. He assured her that she will be appointed as his personal costume designer and invited her to his apartment in Suburban Andheri.
In her complaint, the lady said that on 11 August she has reached the flat and thereafter raped by the singer. She also said that he had beaten her up when she tried to destroy the evidence.
Police charged cases under IPC Section 323,376 and 506. Police said that a detailed inquiry is being progressed.
Meanwhile, Rahul said that the complaint is baseless and he does not know the woman.
Earlier, a similar case was filed by another lady but got justice and this lady might have connections with her, added Rahul.
