Srinagar: In another targeted opertation, militants attacked Kashmiri Pandits in Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir. A Kshmiri Pandit was shot dead and his brother got injured. The militants fired upon two Pandit brothers in an apple orchard and both brothers were seriously injured. They were rushed to the nearby hospital and one Pandit, identified as Sunil Kumar, succumbed to injuries. The deceased is the son of Arjun Nath, and his brother Pintu Kumar is under treatment.
The police, army and CRPF rushed to the area and conducted search operation. The area is cordoned off by the army. Three days back, a migrant worker was killed. Amras, 20 years old, was a native of Bihar was attacked in the mid night at Bandipora.
In Gopalpora area of Central Kashmir, a minority community member Karan Kumar Singh was injured in a granade attack. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha , BJP spokesman Kashmir Altaf Thakur and political parties have strongly condemned the attack.
