Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Muhammed Khan lashed out against Kannur University. He said that serious irregularities and nepotism are going on in the university.
He added that they are trying to keep him, the chancellor, aside and the violation of law will not be tolerated at any circumstances. Won’t allow the breach of law as long as he serves the post of the Chancellor. He added that he would act according to the law passed by the legislature.
The post of chancellor is not a constitutional post. It is up to the government to decide whether the governor should be the chancellor of the university or not. The governor pointed out that the bills become law only after the governor signs them. The cabinet had approved a bill to diminish the governor’s powers in universities. The governor’s report was after this.
