Palakkad: Arrest of the culprits, those who are involved in the murder of the CPM local committee member Shajahan, will be registered today. The police captured the absconded culprits last day from Malampuzha and Pollachi.
The murder was executed by a gang of eight people. Two among them had stabbed him to death.
Police said that the intention of the murderers was to kill Shajahan and all the eight murderers were captured.
Culprits said that they already had issues with Shajahan and the arguments with him finally led to the murder.
Police have collected evidence that showed the culprits had assembled in the Chanakya hotel at Chandranagar in Palakkad. The investigation is being progressed to check whether the culprits have received any help from the outsiders.
The murder took place last on the 14th night in the midst of the preparations to celebrate the Independence Day. The attackers arrived in two motorcycles. Shajahan’s legs and body were seriously wounded in the attack. He breathed his last before reaching the hospital.
