Srinagar: The congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned from the president position of J&K Congress committee. He has been resigned hours after being sworn in to the position. It is informed that he resigned from the new responsibility due to some health issues.
In a report, he expressed his gratitude to everyone for selecting him for the position and also said that he had to resign due to some health issues.
The new Congress campaign committee was formed in J & K last day. It includes 11 members including the PCC President, the working president and some permanent invitees. When G M Saroori became the convenor, Tariq Hameed Kara was selected to the position of the vice chairman. Both of them were appointed by Sonia Gandhi. Gulab Nabi Azad resigned after this.
Earlier Ghulam Ahammad Mir was the Congress president and he has deep friendship with Azad.
It is said that many of the senior members have different opinions in the selection of the new members in both the Congress Committee and the J&K sector of the Congress.
