Kozhikode: Sunni leader Sathar Panthalloor supports the Kozhikode session court judge’s statement that said, a complaint on abuse will not stand if the dressing style urges temptation.
Sathar said that the dressing style can also be considered as a consent. The statement should be discussed by the society and It is a wonder why the Women’s Commission is protesting against it, said Sathar.
Some people consider consent as a license to do any kind of activity. A tempting dress style can also be considered as long as the term ‘consent’ has not been defined clearly. Vulgar dressing is becoming common in public places nowadays and one cannot escape by putting all such vulgarities under freedom of dressing, said Sathar.
We use dresses to cover the body and it must not be worn as if exposing the body. It is women who are wearing such dresses. But instead of conducting positive discussions the organizations like Women’s Commission are opposing the judgement weirdly, added Sathar.
Last day, Kozhikode sessions court said that the complaint against writer Civic Chandran will not stand as the woman was wearing a provocative dress. The court’s observation came on the basis of a complaint filed recently by a Dalit woman against the writer .
