NewDelhi: CBI conducted raid in Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s house. The raid was based on excise policy. At the same time, the CBI is conducting raids at around twenty locations in the national capital. Will cooperate with the investigation, responded Manish Sisodia through Twitter.
Due to controversy in new excise policy, the old excise policy has been restored in Delhi. The new policy has been criticized for allowing a large number of private liquor shops. The controversy started nine months after the new policy was implemented. The new policy will expire on 31st August.
A complete change in liquor distribution system has been implemented under the new excise policy in Delhi. The new policy was to end the retail trade in liquor and allow more private outlets to operate liquor shops. Discounts, rebates and offers were also given to increase sales.
