Thiruvananthapuram: Onam kit distribution has partially interrupted due to a complaint in the EPOS machine. The concerned authorities have started working on it to resume the distribution soon.
The kit distribution has stopped working partially and the supply of Onam kit by generating a pin number in the registered mobile number is still working, said the shopkeepers of the Pubic Distribution Service(PDS). But the same issue had occurred earlier too
The Onam kit is planned to be distributed among 87 lakh people till 7th September at an expense of 425 lakh rupees. There are 14 different types of products included in the kit. Government has claimed that this time, the distribution will be completed prior to the day of Onam.
The government claims that their aim is to realise Zero Hunger State as announced during the time of the election. But in several places, people are returning to their homes bare handed due to the technical difficulties .
Meanwhile, the PDS shopkeepers are facing a huge crisis due to the laps in getting the commission rates of kits issued during the Covid time.
