Kozhikode: The High Court Administrative Division has transferred four judges including Kozhikode sessions court judge S Krishnakumar, who made controversial remarks in the sexual assault case by the writer Civic Chandran.
Krishnakumar was transferred to the Kollam Labor Court and Mancheri District Judge S Muralikrishnan is the new judge of the Kozhikode Sessions Court. Ernakulam Additional District Judge C. Pradeep Kumar was appointed as Mancheri District Judge and Kollam Labor Court Presiding Officer Dr. C S Mohit was appointed as the presiding officer of Ernakulam Labor Court.
The judge’s controversial remark was that the woman who filed a sexual harassment complaint against Civic Chandran was wearing provocative clothing. This reference is made in the order issued by granting anticipatory bail to Civic Chandran in the second sexual assault case registered by the Koyilandy police.
The court found that Section 354A was not applicable as the complainant was wearing provocative clothing. In the order granting anticipatory bail, the court had observed that the woman’s dress was clear in the photograph presented by the defendant in the court.
