Lucknow: Siddhique Kappan, an accused in an attempt to create communal riot at Hathras, approached Supreme Court for bail. The action was taken following the rejection of his bail by the Allahabad High Court. The court informed that his complaint will be considered on Saturday.
The investigation agency had found that Kappan has connection with Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), a banned terrorist association. It is also found that he has connection with yet another terrorist group, the Popular Front of India . The investigation team clarified that he had received funds from the Campus Front.
But Kappan said that he has no connection with any such associations and the money was deposited by himself for the construction of his house. He added that Twenty thousand rupees was given by his friends and reaffirmed that Popular Front is not a terrorist group.
