Amritsar: Supreme Court said that the incident of PM’s vehicle blocked on the roadside was occurred due to the irresponsible attitude of the Punjab Government. The observation is on the basis of a report submitted by a five member committee including Indu Malhotra, the former Supreme Court judge.
Report says that the Firospool SP had failed in maintaining the duty properly.
Police had a clear idea about the PM’s route. But they failed to arrange security to the PM, added in the report.
The copy of the report will be handed over to the Punjab Government and SC ordered to take further procedures based on it.
The security failure was happened on 5 January 2022. PM’s Vehicle had stranded on the overbridge near the Piranha village for about 20 minutes following the protest conducted by some people. The police were not ready to remove the protesters from the area. Following this, a five member committee was formed under Chief Justice N V Ramana to submit a report about the incident.
