New Delhi: The Indian Army will continue to recruit Gurkha soldiers through the Agnipath scheme, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday.
“We have been recruiting Gurkha soldiers in the Indian Army for a long time. We look forward to continuing to recruit Gurkha soldiers to Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme,” Bagchi said.
The Agnipath scheme will recruit youths for a tenure of four years as ‘Agniveers’. After four years, 25 percent of them will be absorbed in the Force.
