Thiruvananthapuram: Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan today stated that the higher education sector of the state is collapsing. The students go to another states for their education. Several students have shared their concern on this to me in person, added the Governor.
The former Governor P Sadasivam had earlier told that Kerala’s universities are not up to the mark, said Arif Mohammed Khan. Here, in the universities, relatives are appointed, then, how will the children learn here? asked Governor while responding to media in Thiruvananthapuram.
He had stated last day that which ever bill is passed on this regard, he will never ever allow appointments of relatives. He said that he will not allow Vice-Chancellors to appoint people close of those in power. “Responsible for the duties placed on me. I will see that the spirit of the law is upheld. Candidate with less marks is being considered as a nominee for being close to people in power. I have no business to find fault with the Assembly. I have a duty to see whatever they do which comes to me is constitutional. I shall try to do my duty in the most diligent manner. I will see the whole thing from the angle of the law,” the Kerala Governor said.
