Lucien: India’s Olympic medal winner Neeraj Chopra has achieved the first position in Lucien Diamond League.
He has made a marvellous return by covering 89.09 metres distance in the javelin throw. This made him the first Indian to achieve the medal with the best throw.
After the injury, this was the first competition he had participated in and his fans were also in great demand. Neeraj covered 89.08 meters in the initial try itself and 85.18 in the second attempt. This paved his way to the final round. Neeraj will participate in the 2023world championship.
Czech Republic player Yakoob Wadleishin had achieved the second position and US player Kurtwa Thopson won the third. The finals will be held on 7 & 8 September. The participants who achieved the first 6 positions will be selected to the finals.
