Thiruvananthapuram: Central government has allocated money to Kerala for distribution of ration. The money was allocated as part of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana scheme. The Center informed that 51.56 crore have been allotted to Kerala.
The money has been allocated to Kerala from the amount of the Food Safety Department. 1200 crores have been received by the Food Safety Department. The money given by the Centre can be used to deliver ration to Kerala from neighboring states.
Meanwhile, Kerala is not allowed to use this money to pay the liability of kit distribution during the Corona period. During the year 2020-21, 10 months of commission ration is payable to traders on kit distribution. According to the Centre’s order, the sanctioned amount should not be used for this.
