Pathanamthitta: Eighteen months long Harivarasanam centenary celebrations organized by the Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samaj will begin today. The celebrations starting today from Pandalam will conclude in January 2024 with the ”Global Ayyappa Mahasangamam” program in which the Prime Minister will be the Chief Guest.
Harivarasanam was composed by Konnakath Janakiamma in 1923. Millions of Ayyappa devotees experience the spiritual joy of bliss in the melodious music of Ganagandharvan Yesudas.
The ceremonies started with Ashtadravya Mahaganapati Homam which was held this morning. There will also be a procession starting from the Pandalam NSS Medical Mission Center in the afternoon and it will end at 4:00 PM at the Koikal temple in Pandalam. After that there will be a public function. The function will be inaugurated by the President of the Pandalam Palace Sri Moolam Thirunal Sasikumara Varma and the Sabarimala Tantri Brahmasree Kantararu Rajeevaru.
