Kochi: The court said that the ivory case will be considered again after the Onam holidays. The High Court did not consider Mohanlal’s request to exempt from appearing in person. It also clarified that the government should approach the High Court when the petition of the government is rejected.
Last day, actor Mohanlal approached the High Court in the ivory case. In the petition, he sought to quash the order of the Perumbavoor Magistrate Court which rejected the government’s plea to prove the case.
Apart from this, the Perumbavoor Magistrate Court which heard the case did not examine the facts and the legal aspect. Mohanlal pointed out in the plea that the government had applied to withdraw the case because there was no evidence against him. The income tax department found four ivory tusks from Mohanlal’s house in 2012.
