Pathanamthitta: In Pathanamthitta, the revenue recovery department under the revenue department has been unpaid for two months. All 21 government employees in the office have been denied salary by saying that they do not have permission to continue. The salary for the month of July has not yet been paid. With this, the employees have approached the district collector with a complaint.
The Revenue Recovery Office is functioning at Pathanamthitta Mini Civil Station. The government gives permission to such offices under the revenue department on a temporary basis. It will then be renewed every year.
The approval of this office expired in June. The documents and files for continuation permission were given from the Pathanamthitta office, but due to the failure of officials in Thiruvananthapuram, the permission has not been received yet.
When the staff inquired, they found out that the official who was handling the files at the Land Revenue Commissionerate office in Thiruvananthapuram was on leave. The replaced officer came but no decision was made regarding the permission. As a result, these employees will not get the Onam benefits announced by the state government. The government has announced bonus of Rs. 4000, festival allowance of Rs. 2750 and up to Rs. 20,000 as Onam advance for the employees. Since it is a bonus and advance, it may not be received later.
There was a similar situation in the offices of many other districts but it is reported that the problems in these places have been resolved. Bills are submitted to the Treasury and the salary amount is passed. The bills of this office staff have not been paid yet.
