Thiruvananthapuram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not be the chief guest for the Nehru Trophy boat race. The Home Minister has rejected the invitation of the state government to the program to be held at Punnamada Lake on September 4. Amit Shah will reach Thiruvananthapuram on September 2 and will return to Delhi on September 3. The explanation is that he did not participate in the program due to official busyness.
Last day, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sent a letter inviting Union Home Minister Amit Shah as the chief guest for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. The Chief Minister had also requested him to participate in the Onam celebrations.
The South Regional Council meeting of South Indian states including Telangana is being held in Kovalam till September 3. Leaders including Amit Shah will participate in the meeting. He will also attend the BJP list morcha meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.
