Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticizes Kerala for development stagnation. States with BJP governments have a double engine. There is a twin engine government at the Centre and development is taking place where there is a BJP government in the country. This should also come to Kerala too.
The Prime Minister said that the BJP government is working honestly for the welfare of people. Corruption is an obstacle to development. When action is taken against corruption, there is polarization in politics, he criticized.
75 years of independence has been completed and this is the era of working towards making India a developed country. He added that the enlightened and hardworking activists of Kerala have a lot to contribute.
The BJP government is moving forward with a big goal. The central government’s main objective is to provide basic facilities to the Dalits, the poor and the tribals. He clarified that modern basic developments are being implemented for this.
The NDA government at the Centre is working according to the needs and expectations of the people of Kerala. Steps have been taken to construct two lakh houses in Kerala under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that he is happy to say that one lakh houses have been completed. The poor in Kerala had no facilities for treatment once they got seriously ill. 36 lakh patients were given free treatment through Ayushman scheme. The Prime Minister said that Rs 3000 crore has been spent on this. He started his speech by greeting everyone in Malayalam.
