New Delhi: As per reports, 2.39 million WhatsApp accounts were banned in India during last month. This is the highest rate of this year, says the report. The accounts had been blocked in the background of several complaints filed over the mismanagement and crime. 574 complaints were registered in the month of June alone.
The Centre informed that the IT laws will be compulsorily followed due to the sudden increase in cyber crimes. This made the Centre to inform that the complaints report to be strictly published every month.
In June, it was advised to create a panel to consider the user appeals. It also said that if the court orders, it has to give permission to find the first one who spreads the information through social media platforms. The panel said ,this will help to reduce the crimes to an extent.
Around 2.21 million accounts were removed in India for spreading fake news worldwide.
