New Delhi: As Nitish Kumar decided to quit NDA , several leaders from many regions have left the party. Five out of seven JDU MLAs in Manipur assembly have decided to join BJP.
K H Joykishan, N Sanathe, Muhammad Achabuddin, the former DGP and MLA L M Khathe and Arun Kumar have joined in the BJP. In a statement, Manippur assembly secretary K Meghajith clarified that the speaker has accepted the shift. They cannot be disqualified as the decision was taken unanimously by the majority of the MLAs, said the speaker.
Nitish Kumar had resigned from the position of the Chief Minister on 9 August after announcing the resignation of JDU from the NDA coalition. Later he again came to power with the support of the opposition parties. BJP responded that Nitish’s actions are the most heinous face of opportunism.
