Thiruvananthapuram: The outstanding salaries of KSRTC employees will be distributed from today. It has been decided to pay one-third of two months’ salary before Onam. The management is also planning to pay a small amount of festival bonus action is as per the instructions of the High Court.
The government had handed over an amount of Rs. 50 crore to KSRTC for paying the one-third of the salary of July and August months. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will hold talks with labor leaders and management today to find a solution to the problems at KSRTC. The workers will convey their opposition to the CM about the move to pay coupons instead of the salary.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister will ask the employees to work for twelve-hour single duty to bring back KSRTC. But the firm stand of the organizations is that they will not accept the move to impose more than eight hours of work. There is a plan to move forward with strike if necessary.
