Lucknow: Two killed in a massive fire broke out at Levana Hotel in Hazratganj area in Lucknow. Seven people were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. Hospital superintendent Dr RP Singh stated that a woman and a man were died.
The initial finding is that it was caused by a short circuit. Police and the fire force have reached the spot and extinguished the fire spread on the third floor of the hotel. At present, around 18 people have been rescued. It is reported that many people are still stranded inside the hotel.
As the entire area is covered under smoke, the search is now held with the help of oxygen masks. Four ambulances have been deployed in the area and traffic on the nearby roads has been banned.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has evaluated the incident and given instructions to the responsible authorities to speed up the rescue operations.
The defence minister has informed that he has been communicating with the regional authorities.
