Coimbatore: 1.83 crore worth of gold seized from Coimbatore airport. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 3.5 kg of gold from passengers who had arrived from Sharjah. Firoz Rahman, a native of Kozhikode, was arrested. About seven people are in custody.
Gold chains, bangles etc. have been recovered from him. He was arrested on the basis of secret information. They arrived in an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Coimbatore. The authorities also stated that a detailed investigation has been started in the case.
