New Delhi: Ministry approved the renovation of 14,500 schools, including Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya, across the nation. Centre decided this to be done within 2022 and 2027 with an expense of 27,360 crore rupees. These schools will be known as PM-Shri Schools and will also be turned into model schools.
Two schools from each block will be selected under this scheme. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that special teams will be formed to analyse and study the matter. The measures to improve the quality of education will also be implemented.
PM shri schools will receive 2 crore rupees within 2 years for renovation. 40 percent from the total fund received by the school authority can be used for this and 20 lakh students will get benefits from this.
Advanced technologies will be implemented in every school that comes under the scheme. The activities of both the school and children will be tracked using a special portal. It is also clarified that Holistic and advanced methods will be adopted in the schools.
