Zurich: Neeraj Chopra received gold in the Diamond League finals. He won gold in Javelin throw that covered a distance of 88.44 metres. He has taken out his best effort in the second attempt. Neeraj is the first Indian to receive a medal in the Diamond League finals.
Yaqoob Valdez, from Czech Republic got silver by covering a distance of 86.94 metres. Six athletes, who performed well in the Diamond League 2022 has participated in the final round.
Due to injuries, Neeraj missed the Commonwealth Games, 2022. He received silver in the Olympics and silver in the World Athletics Championship. He got injured while participating in the World Athletic Championship that was held at Yujin.
