Ghazipur : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasised that the country’s heritage and tradition must be preserved and taken forward and urged all the people to take pride in India’s history and heritage and contribute effectively towards preserving and promoting it.
While unveiling the statue of Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh in Ghazipur, the CM said, “We must keep our heritage intact and must respect great men like Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh, who worked towards the development of the state and country and ensured that the youth in Ghazipur attain quality education by establishing a university.”
Paying tributes to Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh, Yogi said Ghazipur Degree College was established in 1957, which today as a PG College remains the centre of providing excellent education to thousands of students.
“Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh and Gorakhpur were closely connected. Whatever systems he implemented here in this university to benefit students, he also conveyed the same to be arranged in Gorakhpur,” he said.
He said Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh’s consciousness, awareness of education, and continuous innovative efforts led to the establishment of this university and as a result, the students here are doing wonders in various spheres of life. “Babu Rajeshwar Prasad Singh preserved the heritage of Ghazipur which is also the land of the revered father of Maharishi Vishwamitra, the district that made the history of India and rid India and Aryavartha of demons,” he said.
The CM also reiterated that his government will give employment to at least one person in every family in the state and will ensure the self-reliance of the youth.
