No change in the ‘Pulikali’: will avoid official functions, says Department of Tourism

Thrissur: Tiger Hunt, ( a street art form) known as ‘pulikali’, is decided to be conducted tomorrow itself. The uncertainty has come when an official mourning day over the death of the Queen Elizabeth was announced to be conducted on Sunday. Tourism department has announced that the ministers and representatives will not attend the official functions and there will be no change for the cultural activities.

The district collector has already informed that no official participation will be there if the ‘pulikali’ is arranged on Sunday. They also instructed the district associations to take a decision on that. The associations had already started the preparations for the game. To avoid a huge loss, the authority has taken a decision to conduct the program on the declared date. More than 250 artists will participate in the game.
