Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has launched Robotic Boat as a helping hand for people drowning in the sea. The Robotic Boat that works in a battery will be known as ‘Life Boy’. It has a capacity to cover 30 metres within five to six seconds.
The District Collector A Mallikarjuna has clarified that the Vishakhapatnam beach will be transformed to a safe beach. The Collector, G Laksmisha the GVMC Commissioner, Harikumari, the mayor of Vishakhapatnam have conducted tests on the Robotic Boat and gave explanations about its working too.
While compared with other beaches, Ramakrishna beach is 10 metre more deeper. The Collector said that the Robotic Boat can save people who drown in 700 metre with a speed of 7 km. Lakshmisha said that a water rescue drone will soon be implemented in the beach that helps soil erosion due to the waves.
