Thiruvananthapuram: The week-long celebrations of Onam will mark to an end this evening. The celebration, began last Tuesday will be concluded with colourful pageantry at the state capital. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will flag off the cultural procession at 5 pm.
The procession, with 75 floats will be held from Vellayambalam and end at East Fort. Around 105 groups of artistes will be accompanying the floats.
10 floats from other states will also be a part of the procession, said Minister V Sivankutty. Actor Asif Ali will be the chief guest of the concluding function at Nishagandhi.
Minister P A Mohammed Riyas will inaugurate the valedictory function. Prizes will be distributed for the winners of various competitions held as part of the celebrations.
