Palakkad: The trial will start from today in Attappadi Madhu murder case. It has been decided to examine at least four witnesses every day. Currently, the bail of the accused was canceled by the trial court, but the High Court granted temporary stay.
The case is likely to be delayed further if the court decides that a trial is essential after the final decision on the matter. Earlier it was suggested that the case should be completed by August 31. Meanwhile, the accused influenced the witnesses. Later, the case extended as the prosecution demanded the cancellation of the bail. The prosecution argued that the witnesses in the case were influenced by the accused directly and through intermediaries.
There are a total of 122 witnesses in the case. 13 witnesses have turned hostile. On the other hand, Governor who came to Attapadi the other day, met Madhu’s mother and sister. Malli told the Governor that there are threats from the accused. There is no way to even inform the police. The family also alleged that the accused are trying to sabotage the case. Madhu’s family will get justice, said the Governor.
