Amaravati: The NIA has announced a reward of 2 lakhs for those who help in the arrest of the accused in Umesh Kolhe murder case, who posted on social media in support of Nupur Sharma. The reward will be given to those who help in arresting accused Shaheem Ahmed Firoz Ahmed.

The accused, hailing from Sakir, has been absconding since the day the case was registered. It was in this situation that the investigating officers took such action to arrest the suspect. The NIA has so far arrested ten accused in connection with Kolhe’s murder.

On 21 June, Umesh Kolhe, a chemist, was hacked to death by three Islamic terrorists in Amaravati. Initially, the investigation continued in wrong direction, but when Kannayya Lal was killed in Udaipur, it was discovered that what happened in Amaravati was not just a murder. The veterinary doctor Yusuf Khan, who provoked the killing, was later arrested.

The case was handed over to the NIA when the fundamentalist connection behind the murder was revealed. Later, the NIA stated in the court that those who were arrested had terrorist links.
