Kollam: Corporation employees were suspended for the delay in issuing water to Rahul Gandhi, who resided at Pallimukku Yunus Engineering College premises as part of the Bharat Jodo Yathra.
The action was taken by the Mayor Prasanna Ernest against Sreekumar, the Vehicle Health Inspector and Liju Gopi, the Junior Health Inspector for making a delay in providing the water.
The water that was said to be provided at 8 am was issued at 1 in the afternoon. The journey coordinator had filed a complaint to the Mayor over the delay.
The explanation was that the tanker lorry drivers were sent to drive the vehicle of the Corporation Standing Committee Chairman and there was no one to drive the tanker lorry.
