NewDelhi: Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan based on information and evidence found during searches in connection with a corruption case on Friday. Delhi ACB raided five locations linked to Amanatullah Khan and his business partner Hamid Ali Khan Masood. 12 lakh and an unlicensed weapon were recovered during the raid.
ACB is probing irregularities in Delhi Waqf Board recruitment. The Okhla MLA was called for questioning around 12 noon on Friday. He was summoned in connection with a case registered in 2020 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
In January 2020, the central agency filed a case against the AAP MLA under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120 B of the Indian Penal Code for defrauding the Waqf Board’s bank account. The case is related to tenancy in board’s property, corruption in purchase of vehicles, illegal appointment of more than 33 officials in violation of rules.
