Thiruvananthapuram: KSEB has disconnected the electricity at Karyavattom Greenfield Stadium. It is reported that the electricity was cut off on the 13th of this month.
KSEB has stated that two and a half crores of rupees are due. Several warnings had been issued and the bill was not paid, blamed KSEB.
The action was taken amidst the forthcoming of India South Africa match which was going to be held on 28th of this month. After a long time, the BCCI is allowing an international cricket match to Kerala. The news of the power cut in the stadium came out when the Malayalis were about to celebrate this cricket match. As part of security, the meeting called by the city police commissioner started in a hall without electricity.
