Hyderabad: National Investigation Agency conducted a wide raid at Popular Front centers. The raids are taking place in various places in the southern states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The investigation is related to the incident of conspiracy for anti-national activities. The investigating agency has also found weapons training centers of the Popular Front.
The inspection will be conducted in Telangana’s Nizamabad district and Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool, Guntur, Kadapa and Nellore districts. The Nizamabad police had filed an FIR against Abdul Qader and 26 others for allegedly engaging in anti-national activities. On August 26, the NIA police in Hyderabad registered the case again.
23 NIA teams are raiding Popular Front centers. According to the NIA, the Telangana Police investigation revealed that a portion of the house was built by Popular Front paying Rs 6 lakh to Abdul Khader. The place is used to train Popular Front activists. The NIA also said that the 27 accused in the PFI case had planned to incite communal violence in the states. Meanwhile, PFI leaders and workers staged a protest against the NIA team that raided the house of Popular Front activist Yunus Ahmed.
