London: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in London to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. The President and her team arrived at London’s Gatwick Airport. The President was received by the Indian High Commissioner in Britain.
The ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey tomorrow. Sources said that the President came to London to express her condolences on behalf of the people of India. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra is also with Murmu.
The President wrote a message in the condolence book on behalf of the government. The book of condolence was signed at Lancaster House, near Birmingham Palace.
Prior to the funeral, Prince Charles hosted a reception for world leaders. The President will also attend the reception at 11 am. After the funeral, she will meet with the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Secretary James Cleverley.
