Kolkata: A turn in Bengal teacher recruitment scam case. North Bengal University Vice Chancellor Subires Bhattacharuya was arrested by CBI. Bhattacharyya was taken into custody after being interrogated at the CBI office in Kolkata. He did not cooperate with the investigating agency throughout the interrogation, sources said.
The CBI raided his residence in August. This was followed by an arrest. Bhattacharya was the chairman of the School Service Commission at the time of the corruption. The CBI started the investigation on the instructions of the Kolkata High Court. According to the chargesheet, the accused violated the rules of the commission and denied the appointment to the deserving ones. Earlier, Bengal former board secretary Kalyan Mo was also taken into custody by the CBI. Last day, the investigation team conducted an inspection at the office of the software company related to the case.
