Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Muhammad Khan signed the five bills passed by the Assembly. He signed except the controversial Lokayukta, University Bills. It is indicated that the permission was given after the explanation of the department secretaries.
A total of 11 bills were passed by the Assembly and sent to the Governor. The Governor is leaving for Delhi today and will return to the state on October 3. Before this, five bills were signed.
The governor had earlier clarified that he would consider giving approval to nine bills except the Lokayukta, University amendments. It was demanded that the minister or secretary of the department should come and explain the matter directly. This was also reported to the Chief Secretary and the move came after this.
