Agra: More than 5,000 people participated in the first day of the 21-day long Agniveer Recruitment rally that started in Agra. Recruitment is organized by Keetham Anand Engineering College.
1.75 lakh registrations were done. Candidates from 12 districts of UP including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Itah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Kasganj and Hathras participated in the recruitment rally.
Candidates were selected for the rally on the basis of a physical fitness test. The college ground where the rally was taking place was controlled by various forces. The police were deployed outside the ground where the rally was taking place and the army was deployed around the ground. Most of the candidates said that they were happy to have the opportunity to serve the country even for a short period of time.
