Mumbai: One more accused in the case of murder of Amaravati native Umesh Kolhe, who posted on social media in support of Nupur Sharma, has been arrested. Sahim Ahmed Firoz, who was absconding, was arrested by the NIA from the Mumbai court premises.
The investigating agency had earlier announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for those who help to arrest the accused. He was absconding since the day a case was registered against him. Then the NIA announced the reward. Eleven people were arrested in this case.
Meanwhile, Feroze’s lawyer came forward against the arrest. It is claimed that the NIA arrested him when he was about to surrender in court. The lawyer alleged that the action was illegal.
On June 21, Umesh Kolhe, a chemist, was hacked to death by three Islamic terrorists in Amaravati. Later the case was handed over to the NIA.
