Kochi: The High Court rejected the plea filed by the survivor in the transfer of the trial court in the actress attack case. The verdict was delivered by a bench of Justice A A Ziyad Rahman.
The demand was that Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese should not conduct the trial. The arguments in the petition were that there is no hope of justice if Judge Honey M Varghese conducts the trial, and that there is a relationship between the judge’s husband and Dileep, the eighth accused in the case.
The survivor had also raised an interim demand to stay the trial. As requested by the survivor, the petition was kept confidential. The High Court had informed that there is no interim order in the demand. The High Court also rejected the survivor’s request not to publish the details of the verdict.
