Thiruvananthapuram: The 52nd State Film Awards will be distributed today. The award ceremony will be held at 6 pm at Nishagandhi Auditorium. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will distribute the awards to the winners. Following the ceremony there will be a musical evening led by renowned music director Bijibal.
Two people have won the best actor award this time. Biju Menon will share the award for the film ‘Aarkkariyaam’ with Joju George for the films ‘Naayat’, ‘Madhuram’ and ‘Thuramukham’. Revathi was selected as the best actress for the film ‘Bhoothakalam’. Dileesh Pothan is the best director for the movie ‘Joji’, ‘Aavasa Vyuham’.
Krishand won the best screenplay award and Madhu Neelakandan won the best cinematography award. The Chief Minister will give the state government’s highest film award, the JC Daniel Award, to director K P Kumaran and the first Life Achievement Award to television veteran Sasikumar. Ministers V Shivan Kutty, G R Anil and many others from the political and cultural sphere will participate in the function, which will be presided over by Cultural Minister V N Vasavan.
