Thiruvananthapuram: LDF convenor E P Jayarajan will appear before Thiruvananthapuram Magistrate Court today in connection with the assembly ruckus case.
General education minister V Sivankutty, MLA K T Jaleel, former MLAs C K Sadasivan, K Ajith and K P Kunjahammed Kutty had appeared before the court last Thursday. All the accused had denied the charges read out by the CJM. E P Jayarajan was absent in the court and sought exemption on health grounds.
The incident occured on 13 March, 2015. The accused had created chaos in the assembly to block the presenting of the budget by the then Finance Minister K M Mani, who was alleged for his involvement in the bar bribery case. The accused had damaged the speaker’s chair ,electronic equipment and mikes, resulting a loss of Rs. 2.20 lakh.
Charges were made against the accused for causing damage to the public property under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Other charges were also filed against the six accused.
