Popular Front hartal: State-district leaders in accused list; 23 arrested under non bailable offences

Kannur: The Popular Front’s state and district level leaders are included in the accused list as they called for hartal and unleashed attacks against the raid conducted by NIA. The accused list includes the name of PFI state general secretary A Abdul Sathar. Criminal conspiracy offence will also be charged on the accused leaders.

Apart from this, district president, secretary, divisional president and secretary were also included in the list of accused. Criminal conspiracy offence has been imposed on leaders who had hurled petrol bombs. 23 people had been arrested so far under non -bailable offence.

Magistrate court, Mananthavady has remanded 86 criminals for four days in Wayanad. The court has informed that they will be sent to Kannur jail.

308 cases have been registered so far related to the violence on the day of hartal. 1287 people were arrested, 834 people have been taken to preventive detention. 25 cases were registered in Thiruvananthapuram city. 52 arrested and 151, in preventive detention. In Kollam city, 27 cases registered and 169 arrests recorded. 13 people are in preventive detention.
