Jaipur: Congress party in Rajasthan faces political dilemma minute by minute, and the latest move is, Congress MLAs, loyalists of Ashok Gehlot, have submitted resignation in protest of appointing Sachin Pilot as the new CM.
82 MLAs who are loyal to Gehlot have given their resignation letters to speaker C P Joshy. If the mass resignation is accepted, the Congress ministry in Rajasthan will plunge into irreparable failure. High command, in its haste move, has called Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot to Delhi for settlement talks. It is hinted that the top leadership will be holding special meetings with the two leaders separately.
MLAs who are loyal to Gehlot, opine that they won’t accept Sachin Pilot as the new Chief Minister. Their demand is either Gehlot continue as CM or someone, who had supported the Government at the time of open rebellion by Sachin Pilot in the year 2020, be the next CM.
However, the high command is conducting marathon meetings to resolve the issues and save face.
